No filter, no edits. The gaining phase is done for now. Phase one of the 2018 contest prep started today. I’ll be cutting down to around 155 from 166.8 lbs. Then I’ll take a diet break for a few months before starting the next phase which will be getting stage ready (155 to 140’ish). .

I am happy with how this gaining phase went but I don’t love the way my physique looks at this weight. In fact, I don’t prefer being at a higher body fat at all but being in a prolonged surplus is worth the short term sacrifice in order to focus on making improvements. I want to bring my best physique to the stage in 2018 and I’ve got all kinds of goals for next year that I will succeed by following the plan, adjusting the plan as we go and being consistency, disciplined and accountable. This is day one and I’m roughly 44 weeks out from the tentative first show of 2018. .

I’m hyped but not just for the end result but every single day leading up to it. I look forward to showing you the journey and the process. It’s going to be fun and towards the end it’s going to be difficult and brutal and emotional and uncomfortable and rewarding! Let’s go! .

@rezarterindi  lots of questions... I’ve been gaining since April 2016 but I had a mini cut back in January of 2017 for 8 weeks. I went back to gaining in March. Since then I’ve gone from 153-155 to 166.8 over the course of 8 months. All lifts have gone up but I’ve been training consistently for around 6 years so it’s not a huge difference. Deadlift when front 385 5x5 to 405 5x5 and bench went from 220 5x5 to 230 5x5 but I really didn’t lose any strength during the mini cut so if we compared to my April 2016 numbers everything went up even more.
